What URBaN is doing
URBaN (United Residents of Bransholme Area North) is now moving ahead with plans for regenerating the North Bransholme estate and it is doing this in partnership with Riverside Hull City Council.
URBaN’s vision is to see all the empty homes on the estate dealt with, existing homes repaired and improved, improvements to the surrounding environment and new homes built on the empty sites. They want to make sure that the local community leads on making North Bransholme a place where new residents want to come and live.
Regenerating the estate
After looking at the options, URBaN wants to see the local community take the lead on the ownership and management of the estate. It has started this process by selecting Riverside to be its partner and over the past few months, there has been a great deal of activity producing a viable plan that will make sure that the council homes are improved to a high standard and the long-term empty properties effectively dealt with.
URBaN has also set up a plan to ensure that it keeps residents informed of what is happening. It will regularly report to you over the next few months through newsletters, its monthly open meetings on the last Wednesday of every month at the community centre and through door-knocking and drop-in events. You can see the latest copy of our newsletter by clicking on the link on this page.
URBaN is very keen to involve more tenants in its work on this community-led stock options process, including the Partnership Board where it meets the council and its advisors on a monthly basis to decide how the project moves forward. If you want to find out more about the stock options process or you want to get involved in our work on this, please contact URBaN.
